Locals have fished Loch Insh for years and it’s still very popular. The largest recorded salmon was 36lb and was caught by Gregor MacBain in 1962

Pike are abundant in Loch Insh and many anglers come in search of the big one!

Trout and Arctic Char can always be found behind the island which is nicely sheltered from the prevailing wind, making it perfect for teaching fly fishing or just spinning with the kids.

Our stocked lochan was custom built for fly fishing ideal for children.

Instruction is always available with one of our local fishermen who know all the secrets of Loch Insh’s depths.

Hire is based on ˝ day or day prices. Early morning and late evening hire’s also available.

Our fishing season runs from the middle of February through until the end of September.

The “old man”, who started Loch Insh with Sally in 1969, now spends his time fishing the Loch.
