The spectacular scenery of the Loch Insh is reason enough for a visit. It is further enhanced by all the things to do at the centre without ever having to leave the site. This is a great situation resulting in your group spending more time on activity and less time in a bus!

Use Loch Insh’s main lodge and the Boathouse Restaurant as your base and include all or some of what we do best, outdoor activity. A great way to spend your time in this fantastic part of the world.

Tried and tested

Our program has evolved over the years to maximise the kids time doing activity from the moment you arrive to the last morning before you depart.

Below is an example week but with so much on offer you can work with the team to create a week bespoke for your group to suit the time of year and your budget.

Remember 1 group leader free for every 10 paying places.

Prices are based on at least 10 guests up to a maximum of 140

Day 1 Monday

Loch Insh

Depart from your school or town for journey to our centre, arrival around Lunch time. Welcome talk and lunch. Then straight into the action with the first 2 1/2 hour activity like sailing, where the kids get to master the basics and are then guided around the loch under supervision. Dinner is served in two between 4:30 - 6:30 with some free time to sort their rooms. Each evening we fit in another session 1 1/2 hours such as Orienteering.

Day 2 Tuesday

Breakfast served from 7:30 -9:30 with a bit more free time sessions start at 9:30 windsurfing session a great to get over the fear of getting wet this lasts for 2.5 hours. Lunch from 12 - 1:30 gives plenty of time to change and eat.
In the afternoon work off the sandwiches on a guided tour of the Inshreach Forest and Glen Feshie by Mountain bike. The group will be split into ability to teach at the level of the group sticking to tried and tested routes keeping accidents to a minimum.
After dinner the evening session today would be a capture the flag game in the woods, a great way to tire them out before bed.

Day 3 Wednesday

Another day of activity on the loch with a mixture of dry & wet sports again. In the morning the group will go for a paddle in kayaks to explore the loch further and enter the River Spey and our two islands covering about 3 miles under your own steam!
In the afternoon we might fit in an archery session and a trip in the tour boat at 1.15hrs each
In the evening we do another 1.5 hour session this time of Skiing or Snowboarding

Day 4 Thursday

Lots of head scratching today. Start off with an improvised rafting session; great to see team work, knot tieing and paddling skills in action. Have a go at improvised raft building, a great way to spend a summers day. Lets hope it floats!
In the afternoon a problem solving session This builds on many of the same skills, as we dream up ever more complicated scenarios. These will always be pitched at the age and ability though. Always good fun. Thursday evening is often the highlight of the week with our BBQ and disco night. Kids look forward to this night all week. It finishes with a prize giving and issue of certificates which are given out by the Loch Insh instructors on duty that week. We then watch your action packed video of the week which you get to take away with you as a reminder of the kids week. We always try to get as many faces on the film and always try to get the crashes and falls as well as the teachers having a go! A great memento of your week!

Day 5 Friday

This morning the group can fit in one more dry activity such as a nature walk or a Canoe along the loch side, so no need for wet clothes to take home before jumping back on the bus. Canoeing should remain a dry activity believe it or not! Rooms must be vacated at 10 and bags are packed ready before going out on activity, as with everything this week departure can be arranged specific to your group as some groups may wish to visit something else on the way home like the free to enter highland folk museum down at Newtonmore 10 miles away
