Established in 1969 by the Freshwater family, the Loch Insh Outdoor Centre has grown into a highly popular tourist destination in the Cairngorm National Park situated on the beautiful banks of Loch Insh.
We are proud to be one of the country’s largest privately-owned outdoor centres, offering an extensive choice of both water and land activities. Guests can enjoy Sailing, Windsurfing, Paddleboarding, Canoeing, Kayaking, and Fishing, alongside Archery, Skiing/Snowboarding (on our Dry Ski slope), Ice Skating (on our Glice Rink), Bush Craft, and Cycle hire. We’re confident you’ll discover a new favourite activity while staying with us!
We can accommodate up to 130 guests at the centre with all accommodation a short walk from the outdoor centre and loch making it an ideal base for a fun filled activity stay. We also offer an onsite restaurant and bar to refuel during a fun filled day in the Cairngorms or to relax in the evening whilst enjoying a beautiful sunset.
Insh Hall provides a diverse selection of bunk style en-suite rooms designed to fit various budgets. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast seeking a convenient base for exploring the Cairngorms National Park, or a family simply looking for comfortable accommodation, Insh Hall offers a cost-effective place to stay.
Our self catering chalets are a mix of detached and semi-detached log buildings, ranging from two-berth to eight-berth. Selected chalets also feature the added comforts of a wood-burning stove and/or a private hot tub.
Our first floor self catering apartments are located at either end of Insh Hall, both offer accommodation for 5 guests in a family room and a single room. Our apartments both feature the comfort of a wood-burning stove.
Our car parks are very busy during the day but we want to share the love by offering a small number of spaces overlooking the Loch each evening for motorhomes, so you can catch that gorgeous sunset and sunrise!
We have a fresh water tap and toilet facilities open 24/7, and you are welcome to use the showers at our beach changing rooms between 10am and 5pm.
