Known for its steady inland breezes and breathtaking mountain scenery, it is widely considered the premier place to learn to windsurf in Scotland. Whether you’re looking to catch your first breeze or you’re an experienced sailor looking to sharpen your carve gybe, our expert team is here to get you moving.

Located just 6 miles south of Aviemore and an easy 40-minute drive from Inverness, we offer everything from casual taster sessions to professional RYA-certified qualifications in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

For those with previous experience, you can hire fleet of top-quality Goya boards and sails, rigged and ready to go. come and learn on the best beginner to advanced gear you can buy.

Taster sessions

If you aren’t ready for a full course or just want a fun afternoon on the water, here’s a couple of options to get you out on the water for the first time.

Group Taster Lessons
The perfect “no-pressure” 90 minute introduction with other first timers. Our instructors will get you standing up and steering in your very first session. All ages from 8 years old can take part.

Private Taster Lessons 
Same lesson even less pressure! Your lesson at your pace. A great option for families with kids under 8 years old who can join in too.

COURSES

As a fully recognized RYA Training Centre, we provide structured windsurfing courses that follow the national syllabus. We use modern, wide-style boards and lightweight rigs to make your progression as fast and rewarding as possible.

RYA Start Windsurfing: A comprehensive 2-day or 5 day introduction that takes you from total beginner to competent on a board

The Loch Insh Monsters
World champion, Scotlands own Andy Brown learnt to windsurf right here. Meeting every Saturday afternoon (May –October), it’s the most fun and affordable way for kids to learn to sail and stay active. (Kids can join once completed an RYA level 1 course)

Youth RYA Stages 1-4: Specifically designed for kids aged 8+, these courses build balance, coordination, and confidence on the water.

Private Lessons – Tailored for You: Not everyone fancies a group environment. If you prefer a more personal approach, our Private Lessons offer 1-on-1 (or 1-on-2) coaching. This is the fastest way to progress, providing a quiet, focused space where the lesson moves at exactly your pace.

Master a New Move or Trick: Already comfortable on the board but want to level up? From mastering the harness and planing in the footstraps to nailing those carve gybes or even sending your first forward loops, our expert instructors are here to help you master the maneuvers that matter to you.
