Introductory Course

Scotland offers some of the best paddling destinations you can find and the River Spey is no exception. Loch Insh is at the heart of it all and with our expertise and knowledge and excellent range of paddling equipment, we can help you to develop your paddling.

Join our Two day Introduction to Canoeing Course and travel the stunning stretch of river from Kingussie to Loch Insh on day one learning the basics. On day two, we take you downstream on the faster flowing and more advanced stretch of river to Aviemore so you can practice more advanced techniques on fast moving water.

We offer this course in Canoes and Kayaks or a mixture of both!

Intermediate Course

For the experienced, a more challenging section of the Spey awaits downstream on the Spey between Grantown and Aberlour. Join us for the second section over a further two days and we will help you develop your skills further and show you how to get the very most out of your adventures on the “whisky” river, the 9th longest river in the UK.

Spey Descent

For the adventurous! Please contact us if you are interested in paddling the whole of the River Spey over 5 days, finishing at the sea some 74 miles down stream from Kingussie. This is a truly epic adventure taking in some of Scotland’s finest sights from inquisitive wildlife to historic monuments and stunning, picturesque scenery.

Get back to nature with a full camping experience, stopping at scenic sights along the route. This trip includes a distillery visit and a final night of local folk music at a traditional Highland pub. A unique and memorable trip.
